The Science and Common Sense Behind Why You Should... →
becomingsuperhuman: If there’s one thing I have realized about spreading the good word of the Paleo Diet, it’s that Americans LOVE their bread. You can take away their ice cream, you can take away their candy, you can even take away their beer, but don’t you dare touch their bread! I honestly can say that about 80% of the people that I introduce to the Paleo diet will respond with some version...

Day 6 of 121
In work most of the day, still struggling to settle in. Breakfast: Greek yogurt with walnuts and flaxseed.  Coffee Snack: Croissant and latte (definitely an emotion induced purchase) Lunch: Delicious beef meatballs with a spinach salad Dinner: Made from scratch chicken stir-fry.  Scully and I did the math, each big serving cost about €4 to make… and we got to put in exactly what we...

Was back in work after two weeks off.  Very strange feeling, the whole dynamic has shifted with my coworker back from maternity leave.  Considering everything that’s happened with work over the past few months, it’s definitely time to get on the job hunt.  Downside of the day; the most attractive graduate schemes have closed their applications.  Upside of the day; I can still network...

January 1st: Spent unpacking the house (we moved on Dec 31 and celebrated with one beer watching the fireworks go up across the city from our 5th floor apartment) and talking about food intolerance.  Breakfast/Lunch: Not the best food choices as as we were desperately hungry (after a dinner of porridge the night before… moving on New Years Eve really messed things up!) and due to New Years...

#4 Gym #5 Céilí dancing… didn’t think it was going to be enough to count as a workout, especially when my dance class on Thursday wasn’t nearly hard enough.  BUT I was panting and sweating and dragging my boyfriend around the dance floor for long enough to count as one hilarious and delightful cardio session. #6 Gym: Russian step ups, weighted rows, back extensions and...

November's Third
Completed November Workout #3 Squats, Pulldowns, Leg Curls & Bench Press… Low Reps, High Sets, Heavy. Intervals & Streching to Finish. Though I felt quite weak (I think from the half loaf of bread I ate on Sunday/Monday), I tried hard and finished.  Looking forward to a good strech tonight & having a night off. Workout #4 is tomorrow @ the gym. Workout #5 will (if...

Workout #2
also… I completed November Workout #2. Not my best work, but  I did my reps slow to maximize my mind/muscle connection.  And I lifted heavy (for me) again.  And the gym was full of intimidating ‘muscle heads,’ but I did my stuff without feeling too self conscious.

... and we have an NSV
Getting ready to meet friends. Need a black skirt.  My favourite is in the wash. Pull old one (from when I was my smallest) out of wardrobe, praying it will look half decent. Actually, it fits really well again!

Struggling to motivate myself to go to November Workout #2. :( Get off your ass, girl. (Thanks, self, that was really inspirational)

November Workout #01
My goal this month is to get at least fifteen quality workouts (either at the gym or yoga) in this month. I didn’t get my first November workout in yesterday as I was feeling a little bit tender from Monday’s workout. Today I was meant to go to a staff social and then to a book/wine club meeting after work (I feel like that makes me sound so old and mature…eeeck), so I left home...

Amazing Advice
Eat protein, veggies, and some fat with every meal.  Exercise smart.  Sleep at least 8 hours a night in a darkened room.  Stop taking yourself so seriously, laugh a lot, cry when you need to, hug more, make love more, and play until you are fall-down-tired. Stay Positive. Eat Food.  Keep it Simple.  And as always. Enjoy!
